Q. Can I work at home?
A. Many Massage Therapists work at home. They set their own hours and take vacations and trips whenever they want. Other Massage Therapists prefer to work outside the home for health and fitness center, spas, resorts, cruise lines, health clinics and more.
Q. Is Massage Therapy easy to learn?
A. Yes, because we show you everything step by step. If you can follow simple instructions and apply yourself, you can learn through our massage therapist training.
Q. Do I need any previous education or experience?
A. You must be able to read, write and understand directions. You also need to have normal physical motor skills.
Q. How much can I earn?
A. Professional Massage Therapists generally charge $30, $40, $50 per massage and more. To start a career as a Massage Therapist, you need to check the licensing requirements in the state in which you live. Some states do not require any special licensing at all.some states require a certain amount of hands-on or other training, and some require you to pass the "NCETMB" exam. Our program prepares you to sit for the NESL. We recommend that you check with your state and local agencies regardiong requirements to work as a massage therapist prior to enrolling.
Q. Are there any extras I must buy for the course?
A. No. Everything you need to complete the academic home-study part of the course is included. You only need access to a video player and a family member or friend to practice your massage technique. If you decide to proceed to the advanced final stage of the program, you will receive hands-on instruction from our Colorado credentialed instructors at no extra charge. During this on-site part of the course held in Fort Collins, CO, you are only responsible for your travel, lodging and meal expenses.
Q. Is U.S. Career Institute accredited?
A. Yes. U.S. Career Institute is an Accredited Member of the Distance Education and Training Council. The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency, for distance learning schools. Because of this, our curriculum, faculty, administrative procedures, and policies are frequently reviewed to ensure that we continue to meet the DETC's exceptionally high standards of quality.
Q. What other credentials does U.S. Career Institute have?
A. U.S. Career Institute has been a state-approved school since it was established more than twenty years ago. Since that time thousands of men and women have received our training. If in the future you wish to transfer USCI credits, you should check with the receiving institution because requirements vary from place to place and U.S. Career Institute makes no representation regarding transferability of credits.
Q. If I'm in the military can I be reimbursed for my tuition?
A. U.S. Career Institute is qualified under the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support, or DANTES program. Military personnel, including those on active duty or reserve, may be eligible for partial reimbursement of tuition upon graduation. For reimbursement information contact your DANTES education officer before you enroll.
Q. Will my employer reimbursement for my tuition?
A. Some students may be eligible for full or partial reimburse of their tuition by their employers. Your company may be able to take advantage of The Employee Education Assistance Act (IRS Code, Section 127). Check with your supervisor or personnel department.
Q. How much work is available?
A. The demand for Massage Therapists is greater than ever before because Massage Therapy is the most popular of alternative health treatments. Alternative health is clearly the largest growth industry in healthcare today.
Q. When I'm finished with the course, how will I find work?
A. If you wish to use your massage training to become a Professional Massage Therapist, U.S. Career Institute will advise you on your job search and how to research specific licensing requirements in your state. We will also show you how to contact employers and present your credentials.
Q. What other fees are there?
A. There are NO additional hidden fees or graduation fees to worry about when you take classes with USCI. The only fee you’ll incur will be an optional $5 transcript fee if you request it. |
