Q. Can I really learn to be an Animal Care Specialist at home?
A. Absolutely! Although most of the students who enroll have owned pets of one kind or another, you don’t need any special technical or medical experience. Caring for animals—that’s what we’re going to teach you! The most important thing you need is a sincere love of animals and the desire to help them.
Q. Is this course extremely technical or difficult to get through?
A. Not at all. This course prepares you to work in a career support position working with veterinarians. Of course, you will learn about the professional areas of animal care including medical terms and procedures. But these areas are easy to learn with our step-by-step instructions. And remember, much of what you will learn is of a non-scientific nature such as care giving, behavior modification, grooming techniques, office procedures and more.
Q. Do I need any special schooling before I take this course?
A. As long as you can read and write and are motivated to be successful in your endeavors, you should have no problems at all completing this course.

Q. If I’m in the military can I be reimbursed for my tuition?
A. U.S. Career Institute is qualified under the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support, or DANTES program. Military personnel, including those on active duty or reserve, may be eligible for partial reimbursement of tuition upon graduation. For reimbursement information contact your DANTES education officer before you enroll.
Q. Will my employer reimburse for my tuition?
A. Some students may be eligible for full or partial reimbursement of their tuition by their employers. Your company may be able to take advantage of The Employee Education Assistance Act (IRS Code, Section 127). Check with your supervisor or personnel department.
