Q. How can I become a Plumber?
A. Typically a High Schoool diploma or equivalent is required, formal training through an accredited institution can also be helpful. After completing a recognized program, most plumbers learn their trade in a 4 or 5 year apprenticeship program. Each year, apprentices get 1000’s of hours of paid training and technical instruction. This basic plumbing training course is intended to give you foundational plumbing knowledge to help you when you find your apprenticeship position.

Q. Do you find an apprenticeship for me?
A. USCI will not find an apprenticeship for you; it is your responsibility to look for this opportunity upon completing our plumbers vocational training program. USCI does offer graduate support through our Career Coach program which is designed to give you the tools you need to market yourself including cover letter, resume, interview skills and job search techniques.

A. The main focus for Plumbers is to install, repair and maintain water, gas, and other piping systems. They work on several different types of fixtures for plumbing and appliances, such as toilets, dishwashers, water heaters and septic systems.
